Several tips for new digital photographers
What does digital photography mean?
Digital photography is a sort of imaging that uses digital technology to develop images of the topics you have selected. Digital scenes could be exhibited, printed, stored, handled, transferred, and archived using digital and computer techniques, without chemical processing comparing to the old type of processing the photos.
Digital photography introduction
First and foremost, choose a camera. Frankly speaking, the digital camera with at least 4 mega-pixel resolution and a 3x optical zoom is preferred. Digital SLR camera is advized for its flexibility so that you can change the lens to suit the type of photography you desire to take if your budget is not so tight.
Secondly, prefer optical zoom to digital zoom. The scene of you photos can be captured by the capacity of the actual optics in the lens of the optical zoom. Yet, Digital zoom will develop extra pixels depending on current ones to fill and spread your shots. Your pictures will miss in quality when digital zoom is used.
Additionally, try to avoid handshake movements. Maybe you detect that the shots are a little bit blurred or miss some details as you examine your pictures. That is not your camera you should find fault. Shaking hands of photographers, instead, is where your blurred pictures resulted from. To resolve this unsteady camera problems, on one hand, you’d better get yourself better planted on the ground. You need to discover a good balance as you shooting your pictures. You can crouch down on one knee, or positioning your legs one in front of the other to get an overall balance. On the other hand, using a tripod is strongly recommended. This will ensure you to get perfect handshake-free shots. However, there is surely a slight unavoidable movement which results in the out of focus of your scenes although we are attempting to resolve.
Nowadays, HDR shots turn more and more favorable. Avoiding handshaking is particularly significant for creating HDR photos, which demand a few differently exposed shots for the same scene. If there are handshake movements, the produced HDR images would be quite ambiguous. Although the handshake problem can be compensated among different exposed images easily resolved by some professional application, such as HDR Darkroom and so on, it is required to keep off handshaking for each single exposure .
Last but not the least, select right scene modes. Most of nowaday's cameras have the function named as Scene Modes, where you can choose based on the kind of images you shoot. For example, you have to choose portrait mode if you want to shoot portrait pictures and sport mode is preferred if you take images of running children whereby the camera will use higher shutter speed so that the subject will be sharp on the shot. At last, your subject will be in focus and standout from a ambiguous background.
Last tips for your reference
Take pictures in the natural background. Avoid taking scenes in distinguished contrast. Taking photos early in the morning or later in the afternoon and you will get a softer light background to deal with than at midday. Then you will ask a question----what can we get expected photos if we take photos in acute contrast like midday or under the sunshine? Until the advent of HDR technique, people cannot usually get their anticipated pictures.

Darkroom $19.95 Darkroom: A Memoir in Black and White is an arresting and moving personal story about childhood, race, and identity in the American South, rendered in stunning illustrations by the author, Lila Quintero Weaver.   In 1961, when Lila was five, she and her family emigrated from Buenos Aires, Argentina, to Marion, Alabama, in the heart of Alabama’s Black Belt. As educated, middle-class Latino immigrants in a region that was defined by segregation, the Quinteros occupied a privileged vantage from which to view the racially charged culture they inhabited. Weaver and her family were firsthand witnesses to key moments in the civil rights movement.  But Darkroom is her personal story as well: chronicling what it was like being a Latina girl in the Jim Crow South, struggling to understand both a foreign country and the horrors of our nation’s race relations. Weaver, who was neither black nor white, observed very early on the inequalities in the American culture, with its blonde and blue-eyed feminine ideal. Throughout her life, Lila has struggled to find her place in this society and fought against the discrimination around her. |
